WHAT IS ONDA?
ONDA uses a revolutionary technology that utilizes microwaves (Coolwaves™) to target fat cells, the connective tissues between the adipose lobules and induce immediate shrinkage of the collagen fibres in the dermis and stimulate the production of new collagen.
HOW DOES COOLWAVES™ WORK?
The new Coolwaves™ (microwaves) technology work by bypassing the uppermost layers of skin tissue, helping deliver more energy/heat directly to where it is needed: the subcutaneous fat cells. This helps dramatically reduce the heating of the surface tissue, resulting in a safer, more effective non-invasive body shaping treatment.
• Localized fat deposits: The deep handpiece enables Coolwaves™ to penetrate deeply, disrupting the membranes of fat cells. The lysate is subsequently drained by stimulating physiological metabolic processes. The cooling system integrated into the handpieces ensures that lipocytes are broken down in total safety for the skin and maximum patient comfort.
• Cellulite: The shallow handpiece effectively targets the connective septa between the adipose lobules in the more advanced stages of cellulite (visible in the typical “orange peel” effect).
• Skin tightening: The ONDA system’s special microwaves induce immediate shrinkage of the collagen fibres in the dermis and stimulate the production of new collagen. This makes tissues firmer and more toned.
IS THE TREATMENT PAINFUL?
ONDA treatment was created with an integrated cooling system that acts as a barrier between the Coolwaves™ delivery source and the skin. This creates a thermal layer which protects the epidermis and the dermis, allowing the action to be concentrated deep down in the skin on the targeted fat. Coolwaves™ therefore do not risk causing hot spots on the skin, as the electrodes used in radiofrequency systems. Thus, the treatments are very comfortable and not painful.
HOW MANY SESSIONS DO I NEED?
The number of sessions will depend on the current conditions (thickness of fat, severity of the cellulites and loose skin). One treatment usually has significant effects. An average of 3-6 treatments may be necessary for more significant effects, depending on the severity of the condition.
For Localized Fat Deposits Treatment – Treatment sessions are done every month
For Cellulites Treatment & Skin Firming Treatment – Treatment sessions are done every 2 weeks
• WHAT PRECAUTIONS SHOULD I TAKE BEFORE & AFTER TREATMENT?
– Avoid direct sun exposure to the treatment area 7 days before & 2 days after the treatment.
• – Given the high degree of absorption of microwaves by water, it is recommended to suspend the use of moisturizing and softening creams in the area to be treated at 48 hours before the session with Onda. In this way it is avoided to have a greater absorption of the Coolwaves™ in the superficial layers of the skin and, at the same time, the penetration to the adipose tissue is increased.
• – It is suggested, for the patient, to follow an appropriate healthy diet and do a moderate physical activity. You may resume your normal daily activities, including exercise, immediately after your Onda treatment.
– Staying well hydrated and engaging in light physical activity helps mobilize the disrupted fat for processing through the lymphatic system. We encourage you to drink at least 2 liters of water a day and take a daily walk or continue your regular exercise routine.
– It is advisable not to treat again the same area before 15 days.
